What is Tenant Copy Workbench?
The Tenant Copy Workbench allows Ambivo tenant administrators to securely share and copy configuration between tenants. This is useful when setting up new tenants with similar configurations or sharing best practices across organizations.
How It Works
For Source Tenant (Sharing Configuration)
-
Login as Tenant Admin
Select "Share Config" on the login page and enter your Ambivo credentials. -
Select What to Share
Choose which configuration items to include:- Settings Categories: Core settings, feature flags, business rules, etc.
- Entity Types: Widgets, automations, campaigns, email templates, etc.
- Integrations: QuickBooks, Stripe configurations (optional)
-
Configure Security Options
Set expiration time, maximum uses, and optionally require a PIN code. -
Generate Copy Code
A 12-character alphanumeric code is generated. Share this code (and PIN if enabled) with the destination tenant administrator.
For Destination Tenant (Receiving Configuration)
-
Login as Tenant Admin
Select "Receive Config" on the login page and enter your Ambivo credentials. -
Enter Copy Code
Enter the 12-character copy code provided by the source tenant. If a PIN was required, enter that as well. -
Preview Configuration
Review what will be copied to your tenant. You can see all settings, entities, and integrations that will be transferred. -
Select Items to Copy
Choose which items you want to copy. You can deselect any items you don't need. -
Execute Copy
Confirm and execute the copy operation. The configuration will be copied to your tenant in the background.
Understanding Copy Codes
Copy Code (Required)
A 12-character alphanumeric identifier (e.g., F902118AD363) that identifies the shared configuration package. This code specifies WHAT can be copied.
PIN Code (Optional)
A 6-digit numeric security code (e.g., 510251) that provides an additional layer of security. When enabled, recipients must enter both the Copy Code and PIN to access the configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I undo a copy operation?
No, copy operations cannot be automatically undone. We recommend reviewing the preview carefully before executing. For critical tenants, consider backing up your configuration first.
Will copying overwrite my existing configuration?
It depends on the item type. Settings are typically merged or overwritten, while entities (like widgets or templates) are added as new items. Duplicate items may be skipped.
Can I use the same copy code multiple times?
Yes, if the code hasn't expired and hasn't reached its maximum usage limit. You can configure the maximum number of uses when creating the code.
Who can see my copy codes?
Only tenant administrators from your organization can see the codes you've created. The code itself is shared only with those you choose to share it with.
What happens if a copy operation fails?
Failed operations are logged in the History section with error details. Partial copies may have occurred. Check the history for details on what was copied before the failure.
